How I work.
As a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Bayswater I seek to be an enabling partner in your exploration, rather than an expert offering advice. My work is relational. This involves the client and myself being quietly, but deeply together as you explore what might be going on for you. The feelings you have are as much a part of that exploration as your thoughts.
Things are often below the surface, as if we feel their impact (often stress, anxiety, depression) but we are not always fully aware of what it is causing the pain. Listening deeply, feelings that have been pushed down for a long time can begin to emerge, new insights arise and healing take place.
New clients and I typically meet for a few sessions to see how we feel about the possibility of working together, and we take it from there. I agree to meet clients at a regular time, planned in advance, rather than chop and change appointments. I do this in order to create a secure holding space.
I charge for sessions cancelled less than one week in advance.
